Don't Assume Medicare Will Be Enough

Your Passport to Covering Expenses Medicare Doesn't. You need Medicare Supplement Insurance for only one reason: Medicare doesn't pay for all your hospital or medical expenses. Medicare requires that you pay deductibles and co-payments, and it won't pay for amounts that exceed Medicare allowable charges. Supplemental insurance can help protect your assets in the event of a prolonged illness or a severe injury.

There are 10 standardized plans to choose from, each varying in the extent of coverage it provides. All 10 plans cover Medicare co-payments for hospital and medical care. In addition to these basic benefits, some of the plans cover the Part A and B deductibles, Skilled Nursing Care co-payments, Part B excess charges, At Home Care and Preventive Care.* You choose the Plan that best meets your personal needs.

* All 10 Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans may not be available in all states.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

As a member of ATLA or a participating state trial lawyer association, enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B, you may enroll in one of the insurance plans available in your state.

Your spouse may also enroll provided he or she can meet the same eligibility requirements. If you are not eligible for Medicare, your Medicare-enrolled spouse may still participate.

To request plan information (including costs, features, eligibility, exclusions, limitations and renewability) and an application, contact the ATLA Insurance Administrator at 1-800-482-ATLA (2852).
